Angelic Reiki With Carolyn Williams
Reviewed by Emma J.J. Mitchell
It was a cold February evening when I made my way to South London to meet Carolyn Williams, Angelic Reiki practitioner and teacher. She had asked me if I would be interested in reviewing this healing modality, & being up for pretty much anything, I said “yes”. When the day arrived, however, I found myself feeling a little nervous – truth be told, my spiritual practices had dwindled in the face of one full-time career; four part-time jobs & numerous other hobbies and interests, and I wondered how the treatment would progress. Historically I’ve enjoyed a light-hearted and loving relationship with the angels, and usually experience profound reactions to healings. After a heavy week at work and a full Saturday teaching to look forward to, I was nervous that the healing may leave me feeling exposed and unable to function.
I needn’t have worried. Carolyn showed me into a still, calm room, invited me to take a seat and we briefly discussed what I might expect before beginning the treatment. Angelic Reiki is a complete system channelled by Archangel Metatron through Kevin Core in 2002-3, and is felt to be one of the highest forms of Reiki on the planet today, putting Divine Force in motion. After a calming attunement, where both parties are put in touch with Angelic will, the healing begins and the Angels take over, guiding the healer, facilitating the release of blocks and repressed energies, re-energising and well, healing.
As the stresses of everyday life melted away, I found myself in a deeply meditative state of relaxation, where my body was touched to release all that I needed to release at that time. Angelic Reiki is closely aligned with Archangels Metatron and Melchizedek, both of whom I have enjoyed close connections with in the past. As soon as I stepped into the room and sat on the chair upon which the healing was to take place, I felt the huge and familiar presence of Metatron behind me and I could not help but to smile broadly. The sense of presence grew throughout the treatment. The hands I felt coolly resting on my shoulders, moving me this way and that turned out not to have been Carolyn’s hands, as I had assumed, for she sat a good five or six inches from me.
Having managed to disconnect the conscious mind and give myself up to the process, I did not feel much of what was released emotionally (a relief – I have long grown out of a fascination with the negative rubbish from this and other lifetimes that manifests during healings), although I did experience some physical discomfort – no more than at the average osteopathy session – and some dramatic changes in temperature. I also lost all track of time, and was deeply surprised when, at the end of the session, I was told we’d been going for nearly an hour.
I left feeling lighter and brighter than I had in ages. And the following day, I felt energised and strong. The treatment felt both powerful and gentle. It reminded me of my spiritual nature and it helped me release a lot of rubbish that was ready to go. When my schedule becomes less hectic, I would be interested to train as an Angelic Reiki practitioner because it nurtures such a strong and loving connection with the Angelic realm, whilst offering a powerful healing tool. As a recipient of the healing, I would definitely consider going back – so much was achieved in one session, and the Angelic presence was incredibly strong. Carolyn is a gifted healer, and I thank her for introducing me to such an impressive form of healing.
Excerpt from “Divine Intervention” article by Jini Reddy in Jan/Feb 2008 edition of Soul & Spirit magazine:
With the sub-heading “ Do angels exist & can they help you?”, journalist Jini Reddy calls herself “a former sceptic”, and begins her article by detailing her attendance at an angelic workshop, before continuing as follows:
Still needing proof
A few days later, I still have questions that need answering. This is when something truly spooky happens: the business card of Angelic healer Carolyn Williams, which I’d picked up months before in a hair salon and shoved deep into my wallet, falls out onto the floor. Synchronicity? Or coincidence? I take it as a sign and call her. When Carolyn invites me to go & experience her Angelic healing, the offer is too good to miss.
On the way to Carolyn’s flat I’m running late; it’s a Saturday & the roads are clogged. I decide to try a little experiment: will the angels be able to clear the traffic to help me make it on time? I ask silently, & am thrilled when suddenly the bus speeds up & I arrive dead on the hour.
Friendly & assured, Carolyn ushers me into her living room, which is adorned with candles, Tibetan mandalas, buddhas, crystals & the all important angel figurines.
“My grandfather was a healer & as a teenager I had healing. The first time I went, a voice in my head said I’d do this one day.”
Carolyn, who works part time as a special needs teacher, is now a qualified healer & member of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers. But it was when she discovered she had Hodgkins Disease, a form of cancer, that her efforts to heal herself – she is now in remission, & says she is cured – led her to Angels.
Angels explains Carolyn are beings of light born from the heart of God – or if you prefer, the Divine Source, or the Creator. “Angels find humans very confusing & over analytical. We humans procrastinate, have doubts, fears, & all of this impedes the flow of our hearts wisdom. Angels are there to offer us guidance, & to teach us to let our hearts control our minds & not the other way around,” says Carolyn.
Angels can only help us, she says, if we ask them (unless they need to extract us from a life-threatening situation when it isn’t our time to go). “If you’re asking about something trivial, such as a lost purse, ask your guardian angel to help you find it. But if you’re asking about a “big” issue, say to do with healing, or protection, you can ask one of the Archangels,” she says.
There are scores of angels, but among the best known Archangels are: Michael, whose role is to offer protection, strength & courage: Raphael, who assists with communication & healing: Gabriel, the angel of intuition & emotions.
I tell Carolyn I travel abroad a fair bit for my job, & that I’m always pretty anxious before I set off. She suggests I ask Michael for protection. I also tell her I suffer from writer’s block & she suggests I call on Raphael for inspiration.
The roles of the Archangels do overlap – it can be daunting trying to remember who does what. “The easiest thing is to ask for the most appropriate Angelic energy to be sent when you ask for help,” says Carolyn.
I put to her the question that niggles: if angels exist then why do bad things happen to people: “I believe sometimes there are things we have to experience, which are unavoidable because of our mindset or emotional condition. I also believe in karma & reincarnation….and that you make an agreement before you are born to allow certain events to happen in this life in order for you to learn beneficial lessons for your soul,” she says.
Angelic healing
At last it’s time for some healing, & Carolyn explains that Angelic Reiki is like regular Reiki – the practitioner becomes a channel for healing energy – but with added oomph. “With traditional Reiki you are given symbols & hand positions which you need to memorise. With Angelic Reiki, the Angels decide which symbols are appropriate, so you don’t have to worry about any of that.”
Carolyn treats people from all walks of life, from those suffering bereavement, to those who’ve had an operation, “or people who simply want to deepen their connection with angels.”
As I sit in the chair, Carolyn puts on a CD of Angelic music, & lightly starts stroking my hair & shoulders to “help cut the mind chatter & to disconnect from everyday life.” Within minutes I feel like I’m floating on air, surrounded by bright light. For most of the session she stands about a foot away, holding her hands in front of my body or lightly touching my shoulders or head. Afterwards she tells me Michael the angel of protection, & Gabriel the angel of “the emotions, the heart, & the cleansing of emotional blockages” were with us.
I leave feeling energised & impressed – enough for me to sign up for an Angelic Reiki course – in the end I choose Kathryn’s (conventional Reiki) as hers feels more appropriate for a beginner. If a year ago anyone had predicted I’d be doing this, I’d say they were crazy. But something tells me the angels are having the last word….
